How To Make An Alcohol Free Cocktail! {Valentines Edition}

Five adorable alcohol free cocktails to make for your partner, your besties or even just yourself this Valentines. Keep reading to find out how to make an alcohol free cocktail that will make your partner come back for more!

Try as you may, you cannot avoid it. February is here and that means being constantly confronted with anatomically incorrect cardboard hearts, sparkly pink hearts and cheap googly eyed teddy bears filling up every window display. That’s right, I’m talking about Valentine’s Day.

Now, if you’re anything like me then this time of the year is just an excuse to hibernate until the 15th then spend most of my paycheck buying my bodyweight in bargain chocolate, hide indoors and watch anime whilst dodging numerous calls from my relatives as they ask me “Why are you not married yet?” But for those of you who aren’t anti-social hermits, then maybe a few of these Alcohol-Free cocktails will be a good way to show off your cocktail making skills whilst staying sober this February!

How To Make An Alcohol Free Cocktail – See Recipes Below!

1. Love Potion

Whilst I don’t recommend ever using a potion to make someone fall in love with you, this cocktail may just do the trick without the use of magic! Why not make it for date-night or even as a way to not-so-subtly drop the hint to that special person in your life.

Ingredients:

  1. 2 shots of Fortitude Pink Gin
  2. Half a Lemon
  3. 1 shot Orange Sec
  4. 2 Shots Cranberry Juice
  5. [Optional] 1 Maraschino Cherry
  6. [Optional] ½ Teaspoon Glimmer Powder

Method:

  1. Add all ingredients [Excluding the cherry] into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake gently.
  2. Drop a cherry into the bottom of a cosmopolitan glass.
  3. Strain drink into the cosmo glass and enjoy!

2. Queen of Hearts

It’s not quite jam tarts and white rabbits in suits, but you’d be as mad-as-a-hatter not to have a go at this tasty treat! Perfect for girls night in or just double the ingredients to make 2 glasses for the royal couple!

Ingredients:

  1. 1 ½ shots of Fortitude Pink Gin
  2. ½ shot of Lyres Apertif Rosse
  3. ½ shot of Grenadine
  4. ½ shot of Everleaf Forest
  5. ½ a lemon
  6. 1 egg white / substitute
  7. [Optional] Cinnamon

Method:

  1. Add all the ingredients excluding the cinnamon into the shaker.
  2. Shake vigorously for 25-30 seconds.
  3. Add a scoop of ice and shake again for 5-10 seconds.
  4. Strain into a Cosmopolitan glass.
  5. Cut a heart shaped stencil out of cardboard and grate/sprinkle cinnamon over the top of the drink to have a cute heart shaped cinnamon garnish! Enjoy!

3. Roseberry Fiz

As you may have realized, all of the drinks so far have been in shades of pink and red, so with that in mind… This one is too! The perfect AF cocktail for curling up on the sofa and watching a romance movie with your partner. Or alone, I won’t judge. Really, I can’t.

Ingredients:

  1. 6 Large Strawberries.
  2. 2 Shots Fortitude Pink Gin
  3. 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  4. 1 wedge of lime
  5. 1 Teaspoon Rose Water
  6. Sparkling Water
  7. A pinch of salt

Method:

  1. Muddle the strawberries up in a cocktail shaker with the sugar and leave for a few minutes to soak.
  2. Fill the cocktail shaker with ice.
  3. Add the Fortitude Pink Gin and the Rose Water.
  4. Throw in the pinch of salt [If you really don’t want to then don’t feel pressured to, but I find it helps take away a little of the sweetness!]
  5. Shake the cocktail before pouring it into a glass with some ice. [Any glass will do, but I find a large one suits best!]
  6. Top the glass off with sparkling water and squeeze in the wedge of lime before dropping it into the glass. Enjoy!

4. Galentines Margarita Mocktail

So perhaps your Valentines couldn’t quite live up to their mark. Or maybe you’re sick of romances and just want to spend this cloyingly romantic day with your friends instead. Well have a try of this Margarita Mocktail! Not using any AF spirits, this drink is a true mocktail but still tastes just as delicious as all our other drinks.

  3. 2 Shots Sparkling Water

5. Heart Break

Sometimes no matter what you do, you just know that it’s going to be a slow trudge through Valentine’s day. Sifting through post after post about my friends’ engagements and anniversaries often leaves a sour taste in my mouth which is why this drink is a perfect way to remind you that no matter where you are in your life, your relationship status doesn’t define you. Be it single, married divorced or otherwise, this drink is a perfectly sweet reminder that you’re great no matter what! Just be careful of that sour kick!

Ingredients:

  1. ½ cup of raspberries.
  2. 4 drops of rose water
  3. 4 teaspoons of water
  4. 1 teaspoon of sugar
  5. ½ a lemon
  6. 2 shots Lyres Dry London Gin
  7. 1 egg whites / Egg White Substitute

Method:

  1. Muddle the raspberries together with the sugar in the cocktail shaker.
  2. Add in the 4 drops of rosewater and 4 teaspoons of water. [If you prefer a more rosy taste, feel free to add a few more drops! Just be careful not to go overboard with it.]
  3. Squeeze in half a lime.
  4. Add 2 shots of Lyres Dry London Gin [If you’d prefer not to have the more cocktail-esque taste, feel free to skip this step.]
  5. Add the egg white or egg white substitute.
  6. Before adding any ice, put the lid on your shaker and hold tight before shaking vigorously for 25-30 seconds.
  7. Remove the lid and add a scoopful of ice before shaking again for 7 seconds.
  8. Double strain into a martini glass and enjoy!
