Creepy Cocktails For Ghoulish Gatherings
Bex here from team YADA. Here to inspire with some Creepy Cocktails as we enter the spooky season.
If you know me (Bex), you’ll know that Halloween is my absolute favourite time of year. The spooky movies, the sweets, the decorations, what’s not to love? And let’s not forget pumpkin spice EVERYTHING! I could go on until next October listing what’s awesome about autumn, but, I digress…
With sweater weather setting in and All Hallows’ Eve just around the corner, what better time to give you the lowdown on seven creepy cocktails for ghoulish gatherings. In other words, some amazing alcohol free drinks to impress at Halloween parties or slasher movie marathons. Plus, no hangover horror! (YESS!)
Let’s get into it…
1. Toffee Apple
Sugar, spice and everything nice, this is the cocktail for you if you have a sweet tooth. Rapidly becoming a favourite on the menu of our alcohol-free bar in Derby, this cocktail screams autumn!
Ingredients:
½ Shot Caramel Syrup
1 Shot Lyre’s Spiced Cane Spirit
2 Shots Lyre’s Amaretti
Apple Juice
(Optional) Toffee Sweet or Apple Slice
Method:
- Add the spirits and syrup to a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Shake well and strain into a hurricane glass filled with ice.
- Top with apple juice and garnish with a toffee sweet or apple slice.
2. Frankenstein
This rum punch inspired cocktail is freakishly delicious and the perfect drink to kick off your Halloween celebrations! The blue Curaçao, when mixed with the pineapple juice, is what gives the Frankenstein its ghoulish green colour!
Ingredients:
2 Shots Lyre’s White Cane Spirit
4 Shots Pineapple Juice
Ginger Beer
Dash Of Blue Curaçao
Juice of Half A Lime
Method:
- Add white cane spirit, pineapple juice and lime to a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Shake well and strain into a highball glass filled with ice.
- Top with ginger beer and add a dash of blue Curaçao.
- Garnish with a lime wheel, stir and enjoy!
Tip: If you prefer a brighter green, try adding a few drops of green food colouring!
3. Monster Mule
Our Monster Mule is a fun take on a classic Moscow Mule! The Curaçao gives the drink a bright blue colour (think Sully from Monsters Inc.) and perfectly compliments the flavours of a traditional mule.
Ingredients:
2 Shots Stryyk Not Vodka
1 Shot Blue Curaçao
Juice Of Half A Lime
Ginger Beer
Method:
- Add all but the ginger beer to a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Shake well and strain into a highball glass filled with ice.
- Top with ginger beer and garnish with a lime wheel.
4. Harvest Punch
This Harvest Punch is great for serving in a bowl at parties, and it’s packed with heaps of autumnal flavours!
Ingredients:
2 Shots Ginger Beer
250ml Non-Alcoholic Apple Cider
1 Shot Mockingbird Tequila Alternative
2 Slices Of Apple
1 Orange Wedge
2 Cinnamon Sticks
Method:
- Muddle apple and orange in a cocktail shaker.
- Add in the wet ingredients along with a cinnamon stick and ice and stir well until chilled.
- Strain into your favourite glass over ice and garnish with orange peel and cinnamon stick.
5. Zombie
This cocktail may be typically tiki, but we’re making it freaky! And with a name like ‘Zombie’ we just had to add it in. This, to me, tastes like sour Halloween candy. Sweet but tangy, it is certain to put a pep in your step when it comes to defending against the undead!
Ingredients:
1 Shot Lyre’s White Cane Spirit
½ Shot Lyre’s Dark Cane Spirit
½ Shot Lyre’s Orange Sec
2 Shots Pineapple Juice
2 Shots Orange Juice
Juice Of Half A Lime
½ Shot Simple Syrup
Dash Of Grenadine
Method:
- Add everything but the grenadine into a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Shake until chilled and strain into a hurricane glass filled with ice.
- Drizzle grenadine over the top for a sweet and bloody twist, and garnish with cocktail cherries, an orange wedge and mint.
6. Blood Moon
Strong and aromatic with a lemony kick. The Blood Moon is just what you need to keep the vampires and werewolves away.
Ingredients:
1 Shot Bax Botanics Verbena
1 Shot Bax Botanics Sea Buckthorn
Juice of half a lemon
Lemonade
Method:
- Add the Verbena, Sea Buckthorn and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Shake well and strain into a Martini glass
- Top with lemonade and add a dash of grenadine to achieve the blood red colour that gives this cocktail its name!
Tip: Rim the glass with black sanding sugar for an extra spooky touch!

7. Witches Brew
‘Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn and caldron bubble…’

Our witches brew is the ultimate spooky drink. With forest berries, gin and a deep wine colour, you will be spellbound!
Ingredients:
2 Shots Lyre’s Dry London Gin
2 Shots Blueberry Juice
Juice Of Half A Lemon
1 Shot Simple Syrup
Blackberries
Tonic Water
Method:
- Muddle a handful of blackberries in a cocktail shaker.
- Add lemon juice, gin, blueberry juice, syrup and ice.
- Shake and strain into your favourite cauldron over ice and top with tonic water.
- Garnish with blackberries on a cocktail stick or a lemon twist.
Tip: Make this drink extra whimsical by adding edible glitter or lustre dust!
